Tour de Cure Grant Bringing Respite to Families

A heartfelt thank you to Tour de Cure Australia for their generous $10,000 grant supporting Bradley’s Place – a peaceful holiday home for families facing childhood cancer.

Bradley’s Place is the Childhood Cancer Association’s purpose-built respite home located in Lower Inman Valley near Victor Harbor. Completely free of charge, it offers families the opportunity to step away from hospital routines, treatment schedules and the constant uncertainty that comes with a childhood cancer diagnosis.

Thanks to Tour de Cure’s generosity, this funding will provide approximately 19 families with a free respite stay over the next six months, supporting around 76 individuals. These stays offer families precious time to rest, reconnect and simply be together during an incredibly challenging time.

Bradley’s Place was designed with families in mind, featuring three bedrooms, a full kitchen and laundry, a welcoming family room, accessible amenities and outdoor space for children to play.

Each year, around 40 families access Bradley’s Place. For families navigating treatment, even a short break can make a world of difference. One parent shared:

“What a beautiful place… Bradley’s Place has given us a chance to refresh and spend quality time as a family before we tackle all that the year has ahead of us with treatment.”

To the riders, volunteers, supporters and donors behind Tour de Cure – thank you. Your commitment and generosity will help provide special memories for families who need it most.
