Kiwanis’ Colleen honoured for ongoing commitment

Friday 13 Oct, 2017

It was an absolute honour to recognise Colleen Doran for her hard-work, passion and commitment to the Childhood Cancer Association.

Originally, a member of the Kiwanis Club Burnside East, Colleen has actively pursued projects to provide much needed funds to the Association.

In her biggest endeavour, Colleen conceived and set up a project to raise funds to provide wheelchairs for children. A total of $10,000 was raised and this enabled CCA to purchase 10 wheelchairs and 6 pairs of leg extensions.

Over the past 8 years, the Kiwanis Clubs with Colleen’s enthusiastic support and coordination havedonated around $49,000.

Now a member of Kiwanis Reedbeds, Colleen has been honoured with a plaque on a new wooden bench seat at the Michael Rice Units in Prospect to acknowledge her outstanding volunteer contribution.

Colleen has touched the lives of so many children and families who have benefited from her efforts and we couldn’t think of a more worthy recipient.

Thank you SO much Colleen!
