About Seeing Our Psychologists
Many people see a psychologist during or after stressful life events. It is possible that talking to a psychologist about how you are feeling may help in managing a number of bereavement-related concerns, including:
- Navigating the grieving process
- Providing a space to express how you are feeling
- Developing and strengthening coping strategies as you adjust to a ‘new normal’
- Feeling alone and isolated in managing your grief
- Developing strategies to manage feelings of overwhelm and distress
- Looking after yourself
- Managing family relationships in the context of grief
- Managing milestones and anniversaries
Psychologists provide evidence-based treatment that is tailored to your specific goals and treatment preferences, recognising that every person is different.
Location of Counselling
In Person: Counselling is available in person at the Childhood Cancer Association office in North Adelaide.
Via Telehealth: If you are unable to attend our office in person we provide telehealth services via telephone or video conferencing. We recommend an initial face-to-face appointment with your psychologist prior to commencing telehealth services, if it is possible.
