Izzo pledges $20 for every save to kids with cancer

Izzo Save 800X550

Thursday 16 July, 2020

Adelaide United goalkeeper, Paul Izzo, has pledged $20 for every save he makes until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season to Childhood Cancer Association.

It is an incredible act of generosity by Izzo, who has been an ambassador of Childhood Cancer Association since December 2019.

Starting with the Reds’ clash with Brisbane Roar on Sunday 19th July, the 25-year-old will potentially have five games plus finals to donate $20 for every stop made.

Izzo said it is a cause he is extremely passionate about and encouraged others to get behind the initiative in whatever capacity they can.

“Everyone has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the same goes for charitable organisations,” Izzo said.

“As a proud ambassador of the Childhood Cancer Association, I felt it was important to continue to raise awareness of the tremendous work they do.

“I know times are tough for everyone at the moment, but it would be great if Reds fans and the broader South Australian community can give as little or as much as they can to this worthy cause.

“Whether it’s $5 or if people want to match me with $20 any contribution is greatly appreciated.”

Izzo's tally stands at:
Sunday, 19 July - 8 saves = $160
Saturday, 25 July - 3 saves = $60
Thursday, 30 July - 1 save = $20
Thursday, 6 August - 4 saves = $80
Tuesday, 11 August - 0 saves = $0
