Whether you were in the room or not, it was almost impossible not to be swept up in the Winter Wonderland magic of the much-anticipated sold-out 4th Gold Ribbon Gala, which raised an incredible $236,309 on the night for the most important people of all: children with cancer, and their families.
Because when a child is diagnosed with cancer, their entire childhood is affected.
And the impact flows onto the whole family—the parents, siblings, grandparents and even extended family members, each one requiring support to help them cope.
The funds raised will have a huge impact on the future of the Childhood Cancer Association, as we expand our services to increase our support in the areas of nutrition and exercise.
We are proud to say that 100% of every dollar spent in the room will go towards giving our children a better future.
Hearts were touched when Kristin and James shared their son Hudson’s story on stage to the 725 guests in the room, and once more when Holly's story was shared in a special film captured by Randy Larcombe. (You can watch Holly's Story here.)
Hudson and Holly, and their families, are just two of more than 400 families supported by the Childhood Cancer Association every year.
Given we don’t receive any Government funding, it is only because of our incredible supporters that children impacted by cancer, and their families, can receive the ongoing support they need at the time of diagnosis, throughout treatment and into life beyond cancer treatment.
As a small team, we could never create such a successful event without the incredible support of so many volunteers, especially our Gold Ribbon Gala Board. We are so grateful for every part that was played by all involved.
