Hospital Visits
Visits to families at the Women's and Children's Hospital are conducted by our Family Service Psychologists, between 11am and 12pm each weekday, by request.
About Our Hospital Visits Service
Hospital visits from our psychologists offer an opportunity to discuss any concerns or questions you may have, to arrange various services (e.g. counselling, massage therapy, wheelchair loans) or to simply have a relaxed chat and a brief distraction while you are at the hospital.
How To Access The Service
On the ward:
To access hospital visits on the Michael Rice Centre for Haematology and Oncology Ward, please place a tick in the box marked ‘Childhood Cancer Association’ on the menu provided to you each morning. We will then be informed by the ward clerk that you would like a visit.
If the scheduled time (between 11am and 12pm) doesn't suit your schedule please let us know or ask the ward staff to contact us and an alternative visit can be arranged.
In-clinic, other areas of the hospital, or other hospitals:
If you would like an in-clinic visit or a visit to another area of the hospital - or another hospital - please contact us by telephone or email on 8239 2211 or Family.Service@childhoodcancer.asn.au.
Alternatively, you can ask the nursing staff to contact us on 8239 2211.
