Sunday 19 May, 2019
Show your support for families impacted by childhood cancer at the upcoming match between Port Adelaide Football Club and the Gold Coast Suns at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, 19 May.
12-year-old cancer survivor, Ryan Lane-Ellis, has been named Boaky's Buddy and after training with the team on Tuesday will run out with the boys on Sunday afternoon.
Ryan first met Travis Boak on his first day in hospital when he was diagnosed with Leukaemia at the age of four, back in April 2011. The huge football fan even insisted on taking his footy boots with him to the hospital when the ambulance first arrived at his home in the Barossa Valley.
Today, Ryan is six years cancer-free; he loves playing footy for the Tanunda Football Club; and aspires to be an AFL player, just like his hero Travis Boak.
Make sure you come along and cheer Ryan on!
As the Game Day Charity Partner, the Childhood Cancer Association will also be onsite selling merchandise and taking donations to support more than 400 local families battling childhood cancer. Please give generously.
Thanks to our partner, Port Adelaide Football Club, for the opportunity.
When: Sunday, 19 May | Gates open at 10.45am | Match starts at 12.40pm
Where: Eastern plaza | Adelaide Oval | War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide
Tickets: via PAFC website - plus kids are free!
