A surprise for Mannat

Painting for Mannat 800x550

Friday 3 Dec, 2021

If you were listening to Erin & Soda on Mix102.3 this morning, you would have heard beautiful Mannat and her lovely parents Ruchi and Vishal.

Mannat was still living in India with her family when she was first diagnosed with Leukaemia. When they moved to Adelaide, they received support and help from the Childhood Cancer Association.

Our mascot, Elliot was a huge support to Mannat. In her words, “he’s the one who helped me, he’s my best friend and he comforts me a lot. I give him baths and I sometimes cook food for him and we play games together.”

Mannat, now 8 years old, says she feels better than ever. She is happy she doesn’t have Leukaemia anymore and says she feels healthy because her hair has grown back and she is getting much stronger.

We’d like to send our sincere thanks to local artists, Mark Lobert and Phil Hodgson, for surprising Mannat and her family with a stunning artwork of Mannat with her beloved Elliot.

Such a beautiful surprise and a treasured gift for their wall.
